Missou ri State MX Series Round 6: Holler Hill MX Park Jonon, Glorioso Wrangle Some at Holler Hill By CHUCK BALL MONTREAL, MO, AUG. 15 n a beautiful August mor ning. bright blue skies and rich da rk dirt welcomed riders at Holler Hill MX, just outside Montreal, Misso uri, site of th e sixt h round of t he Misso uri State MX Series. The I25cc Intermed iates made their way to th e start gat e for t he first mota o f t he day. When the gate fell, Alex Agler abscon ded with the holeshot, followed by De nnis Jonon, Mason Glor ioso and the re st of the pack. In the rea r of the pack was Honda of Ho usto n rider W ill Hahn. but he was quickly making up ground. Up fro nt, Jon o n mad e quick work of Agler an d mad e his ge taway. C lawing his w ay thr o ugh tra ffic, Hahn had th e crowd on its feet as he made pass after pass, eve ntually e nding his run in second place. ahead of Glorioso . Wh en the checkers flew, it was Jono n with the win. ahead of Hahn and Glorioso. Moto tw o was more of the same , on lyJonon ma d e it e as ier o n himse lf by stea ling th e holeshot . Also getting a better start was Hahn, o n his C RF2s 0 R. T he t wo playe d a m indblowing game of chase. but it was Jonon who was the victor whe n the checkered flag came out. Glo rioso again finished well beh ind the lead duo, in third. Agler and Ryan Loganbill rounded out the top five. The 250cc Intermed iates lined the gate . and this time Hahn launched his Honda 450 into the lead , ahe ad of Glorioso , Jonon and Loga nbill. [onon, riding a KX2s 0F, began to wo rk his way through t he pack, catch ing Hahn on lap two. The tw o stayed close for a few laps, but Jonon put more cush ion betwe e n th e two , e dging Hahn o ut at the finish for the win. After th e moto, Glorioso protested that Jonon was riding his 2S0 F in a 2S0cc Inte rmediat e class . Afte r further discuss io n (a nd ar gu ing) w it h se ries officials, Jonon was in fact disqualified fro m the mota . thus handing Hahn the mota win. As mo t o tw o w as a bo ut to st ar t. F he shou ldn't have m uch problem if he co mpe tes in the AMA Supercros s Series next season. At Albany Motorsports Park. Te rle cki captu re d a pair of ove rall Pro-class wins, in t he 250cc and Op e n classes, aboard his Yamaha YZ4S0F. While Ter le ck i t u rne d so m e he ad s , Washington's josh Hill was equally impressive. The rider from La Cen ter, Washington , topped t he 12s cc and Befo re Th e Hill Int e rmed iate classes t o joi n Te rlec ki, Kaw asaki-moun ted C alifornia n ja ke Ca nad a a nd R.J. Le a c h as double-class wi nners on th e day. H ill has had few chances to go head to head w ith Pro ride rs, but in th e co m bine d Before The Hill Intermediat e and Open Pro contest . Skiles split runner- up finishes in the two motos with Me dfo rd rider Gr a nt Hays, w ith t he position ove ra ll go ing Skiles' way. Hays' fifth-place finish in mota one dropp ed him to third ove rall. followed by Nick Wh it ely (3-4 ) a nd Ch ris Ega n (B-s), w ho co mpleted the to p frve. 50 ja re d Woo d has be en picking up speed late ly, as was ev iden ced by his finishes in th e Supe rmini and 8s cc (9- 1I) class pe rformances.
