pace . I knew Shane was always there , and I knew it was going to take a good pace to kee p ahea d of him. Each lap , my pit board said I was pulling ahead, so I just kept it up." Justin Williamson was credited with second place . "This is exactly what I've been working for allyear," he said. "O ur goal in th isseries was to make the podium , and each race we've gotten a little closer." Williamson finished fourth in the last two OMA rounds and is currently in fifth overall in the series. "I had a lot o f fun out there, battling with [Tony] joiner and [Charlie] Deutscher," the 17-year-old Williamson said. "In the woods, we'd go back and forth, and in the ope n sections, you'd just try to hold on to the posit ion you left the woods in. Right from the start, we all had problems with overheating. I stopped, cleaned my rad iato rs and added antifreeze three times." Charl ie Deutscher and Tony Joiner, however, weren't so lucky, as they experienced seized engines due to overheating problems . Deutscher said: "I just can't believe tha t both jo iner and myself seized today. Each time Williamson pulled over to clean his radiators, I was thinking to myself that he must know something we didn't. He'd have a good lead on us and he 'd pull ove r, and Joine r and I would go by. I have to give him credit - it was a pre tty smart move ." "It funny t hat all three of us were having proble ms," Joine r said. "My bike started running hot almost right away. There was just so much mud ." Tim Tab er, w ho finished third o n th e day, said: ''As mud dy as the grasstracks we re , yo u had to wa it a nd pass in th e w o ods. I was able to mo ve be hind Jarrett for a w hile , a nd then Watts start ed pu sh ing me a nd I just le t him by. Th e key was to kee p you r d istance in the grasstracks and make your move in the w o ods. The co urse actually he ld together well, considering all the rain." eN MOONSHINE 100 MEPHIS, MISSOURI RESULTS: AUGUST 29, ( ROUND 6 OF 8) :'-0 CLASSIC October 2, 2004 •Reno, Nevada Round 5 of the AMA Supermoto Championship Witness Supermoto racing under thebright lightsof Reno N evada asAMA supermoto stars like Travis P astrana.
