the front ro w, and the remaining seven on the
IE back row. the field was set for the IS-lap final.
When the start ing light turned green. the w hole
field flowed into tu rn on e , led by TJ., o n his
litt le two-stroke. But he entered turn th ree too
fast an d went wide. and the next fo ur riders

assume d the point, shadowed by Kasten. With

all th e way aroun d the trac k, and Kasten sliding
bo th wheels on the way in but tracking out of
the corner w ith a lower, st raight e r line - they
d istanced th emse lves from the five-ride r due l
going on for places three throu gh seven. O n lap

Mark too k the outside line arou nd while Kasten
went underneath . In midturn , a lappe r moved
up o ut of Kasten's way and bloc ke d Mark on
th e exit, and Kaste n inherited the lead . As the
laps wou nd do wn, Kasten edged farth e r away,
w hile Mar k's abu se of his rea r tire diminished
his speed , allowing Kasten his first featu re w in
at this track .

victory. Jeff Hend riksz held down second place
until a bobble dro pped him to the back of the
pack . Ma tt he w G inche reau inhe rite d t he
r unner-up pos ition and was act ua lly gaining
slightly o n Harpo le before running out of time .
Harpole got off to another good start in mote
tw o , ahea d of Mike Fo ulk. J.D . La nc il an d
Ginche reau, but Ginche reau we nt down o n lap
one, and Harpole extended his lead over Fo ulk.
Harpole looked to have the second-moto win in
the bag until a miscue on the wh~e-f1ag lap allowed
Fou lk to ge t to the checkers first. Har pol e 's
runner-up finish in the moto gave him the overall,
over Foulk (3- 1) and Ginchereau (2-3).
