r\could not have been any better. With Mother Nature on her
best behavior, the trac k was in great shape all day, and anoth er
record day of attendance meant great races all day long. Any.
time you have these kinds of cond itions, it brings out t he cream
of the crop.
One of the fastest to rise to the top on this day was Owen
Motorsports Suzuki rider Zach Corman, who hasn't been at the
track as much as usual lately because his brother Kyle, one of
the (if not the) fastest mini riders from Illinois, broke his foo t
and is out of racing for the summer. With Kyle on the fence,
cheering on his bro, Zach ste pped up and showed that one day
he may run down his brother with speed .
In the 6Scc class , it was a battle all day between Zac h,
Kawasaki rider David Howard and KTM rider Dakota Blakeney.
In t he first mo ta , it loo ked like it could be anyone 's wi n.
Corman took the holeshot but let Blakeney by for the lead.
Behind them , Howard was having some problems, but he was
on the way to the front . With the laps winding down , Corman
was pushing Blakeney, but How ard caught the lead pack and
made the move past Cor man, then going after Blakeney on the
last lap, making the pass for the win just before the checkered
nag new!
In the second mota, Howard again had his Kawasaki on the
gas, and he was first across the finish line for the mo ta win and
the overall victory. Blakeney and Zach didn't let Howard have it
easy though. fighting the whole rnoto : Blakeney too k seco nd,
with Zach th ird for the moto and overall.
Between the two 6Scc mote s, Zach took his Suzuki to the
line for the MiniOne class.
"I'm just going to take it easy and save myself for the 65cc
