The rookie from Geo rgia raced to a solid fifthplace finish in the first moto and was running in second place in the second moto when his bike apparently broke - looking at first like the same situation which hap- pened to him at Unadilla just one week before. According to Suzuki team manag er Roger DeCoster, the two situations were unrelated - admitting to bike failure at Unadilla, but placing the blame at Troy more on the young Millsaps. "He [Millsaps] stopped the engine in a place whe re it was technical and slippery, and the rea r wheel was off the ground when he entered a r ut ," e xplained DeCoster. "He stalled it, tried to kick it [reportedly around three times] and felt there was something wrong with the bike. His mechanic went over the re and it started right away. We opened it [the engine] up and everything was perfect. Last week, the bike ove rheated and there was a problem with the engine. This week there was no problems, and he should have had second place." So with Millsaps out , Ramsey was able to inherit second place in the second moto - which placed him in fourt h ove rall on th e day with his 8-2 score.
