Rodil del Valle was e le cte d FIM Preside nt at th e C ongress 01 Paris, in October 1965, as the successor of Dutchman Pieter No rtier. He was then re-elected fo r five more mandates, re maining Preside nt for 18 years until he decided to retire at the Congress 01 Be nalmade na in Spain in O ctob e r 01 1983. Rodil del Valle took part in t he very first m eeting 01 the FIC M alter Wo rld War II , he ld in Geneva on June I I, 1946. He was th en Secretary Gen eral 01 th e Spa nish Federation (RFME). In Novembe r 01 1949 , he was elect ed member 01 t he Int e rn at io nal Spo rting Commission (C SI) and he became RFME Preside nt in 195 1.
