he AMA Progressive Insurance U.S. Flat Track Championship came to the Mississippi
Valley Fairgrounds, in Davenport, Iowa, for round seven of the 19-race series. It was
the first AMA Grand National race at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds half-mile, and
the odd-shaped "tri-oval" was the talk of the pits as the teams unloaded early in the
day. When the night ended, it was obvious Kenny Cool beth and his KTM/Jones
Powersports team had the track figured out as he bagged his first win of the season.
