The two Pee Wee classes shared the same technical O .l-mile cou rse t hat loo ped around t h ro ugh the har dwood sta nds beh ind the camp grou nd. Th e trails we re in ex cellent shape tha nks to t he two inc hes of rain that fell early in the week. There were four laps of mud hcles. undersized creek crossings, and logs that made things tricky for the miniature 50s. Despit e the complicated terrain , 8-year -old Trent W hisenant r ode t o another victory on his Yamaha PW50 . Rudy Ferguson did an outstand ing job of keeping enough of a lead to stay in second place in fro nt of 4-year-o ld Cameron Reed. Whisenant lapped Reed right before the fin ish but lost contro l o f his bike in a mud hole ; Reed came on strong and passed W hisenant back, giving him the rights to his fourth tap. The KTM Senio r seems t o be the bike of choice for the o lder Pee We es; it was incr ed ib le wa tch ing SERA's M ica h W il li am s hand le his. To a Pee Wee, t he bik e can be very intimidating. due to its overwhelming pow er. Having front and back disc brakes wi th an adjustab le radical clutch, this cycle is in a class of its ow n and is definitely the bike to have if you're in contention with SERA:s fastest Pee Wees. Sporting the Senior as we ll , 7-year-o lds Steve Nicholas and Br ennen Reed were undaunted by the nerve-racking trails as they wrapped up the second and third spots. Brennen has steadily mo ved up in the class as he con t inues to get a bett er grasp on his new equipme nt with every race. " W hen I first got my bike , I was a lit tl e scared ," Br ennen admitted . " Every tim e I t ook off, it wou ld wheelle up on me , but I thi nk I'm getting it now. The small creek crossing was fun. J felt like I was "ying on my KTM to day." T he older Vet and Intermediate riders competed on a 2.7mi le course tha t looped aro und the entir e campground . They had a few mud holes to con tend wi t h bu t seemed to tak e them in stride. Spencer Cook ranked highest in the Vets, and Jo r dyn D uBose to o k first in the In termediates. The tota l elevation change for both co urses was not mo re than 10 feet , and there were none of the wor ld-famo us ''Ar kansas Rock Gardens " for th e kids t o conte nd w ith. T he efforts of all who he lped t he Arkansas Dirt Riders put on this great kids ' enduro are m uch appreciated. RESUL TS P/W BEG: I. Trent Wh isenan t (Yam); 2. Rudy Ferguson (K3w); 3.
