he opened up some daylight at the head of the World Championship

Crump, who had won the impressive Parken Stadium's firstever Grand Prix last year, conjured up a party-poo
ing repeat to spike the Danish dream of a home winner in front
o a partisan crowd of nearly 26,000 .
The Bristol-born Crump, World runner-up in each of the last
three seasons, levered himself 14 points clear of LeighAdams when
he became the first rider to win two GPs this year, Adams having finished last in the second semifinal when he was surprisingly overtaken by wild card Kenneth Bjerre . With four of this year's nine rounds
remaining when the series resumes at Gothenburg on August 21
after a midseason break, it now appears an open-and-shut case that
either one of the two Aussies will be crowned 2004 World
Champion.
