Pearson we re wrestling over third. Russell was fifth as Smith , Bigelow and Schn abe l battled over sixth. Schnab el made a valiant charge from the pen alty row to run down the lead ers. By lap eleven he was closing o n Kopp for the last podi um spot. On lap 14 Schnab el's charge came unglued as a trip off the tr ack in turn th re e relegated him to a seventh-place finish. Kopp was able to fend off on e last challenge fro m Pea rson for third. Russell, Smith , Schnabel, Bige low, Willie McCoy and Gary Rogers fill ed out the top 10 of the I7-ride r field . The fi rst Expert heat belonged to Schnabel - both starts. The race had to be restarted, as Wiles fell on lap two in rum one. Wiles, restarti ng fro m the penalty line, worked his way past Smith for second on the last lap. Custom Chro me/Rogers-Lake Racing's Rogers led the second heat until the halfway point only to have Murphree blast by. Kopp then dropp ed Rogers to third. The third heat was a good race between Pearson and Bigelow, but Pearson finallypulled clear. McCoy was a lonely third. The last heat had to be red- flagged on the first lap as polesitter Cory McDermitt fell coming off tum four. McDermitt had to be trans ported, with arm injuries. Russell took over the restart and led all the way over R.J . Overholt and Matt Burton. Kopp has take n control of the 505 Expert Hot Shoe points standings. With five of seven races in the books, he holds a IS-point lead over Willie McCoy. J.R. Schnabel is another six points back, in third. When the 12-rider, twelve lap Pro-Sport Main hit rum one, it was Jason Sto rms and Clayton Riggle one and two, but as they drifted high, Zanotti Racing's Sam Halbert dove into the lead. Fast qualifier Riggle had his TNT Action Sports- backed Honda into the lead by lap three and proceeded to pull away. Halbert settled into second, but Low Country HarleyDavidson's William SeyJe was closing fast. The race for fourth had turned into quite a battle as Storms, Darren Carter and Tom Burakowski we re locked together. Carter would prevail over Burakowski. Wade Wessels moved up to take sixth over Storms and Scott Beckley. The Pro -Sport class is stillwide open, as they have only four out of 12 races done. Riggle holds an eight-point lead over Halbert 65 to 57. Nichole Cheza and SeyJe are also close with 54 and 52 points.
