Bobby Bonds proves again
that he's off-road material
after Longview win

o bby Bonds is turning out to
be quite the off-road rider. Of
the three WORCS rounds
he's won so far, two of them
have come on the most tech nical courses seen so far in this year's
series - the first in Texas and now in
Longview, Washington .

The Kawasaki Team Green rider, who
first made a name for himself on the MX
scene, surprised many by taking his firstever WORCS win in Texas, where the
tight, single-track trails would seem to
have favored the more off-road savvy
ride r. In Washington , the Longview facility
also featured a tighter-than-usual WORCS

course that included a little bit of everything. There were slippery roots to deal
with, a couple of tricky log crossings, a
few slick grasstrack sections, sand , mud ,
ruts and , of course, a motocross section .
Again, the true off-road veteran would
seem to have the edge here, but , once
again. the young motocrosse r from
40th Anniversary
Maricopa (California) - a place not really
known for producing a bumper crop of
off-road racers - proved everyone wrong
by beating some of the best off-road riders in the West at their own game . And he
did it quite convincingly.
At first. though . things did not look too
promising for the Goat Eyewear/Fly
