Suzu ki-mounted Washington ian Kyle Ulrich's co me-fr om-behind ride in the first moto was th e close st anyo ne got all da y to May, but Ulr ich fell sho rt of catc hing May by several seco nds. Moto two was mu ch th e same : May grabb ed the le ad , and Ulrich spent several laps trying to work his way past Jer ed Dacus. May 's le ad increa sed w it h each circuit of the co urse, and he finished some six seco nds ahead of Ulrich at mota 's end. Ulrich was again May' s closes t foe in t he 85cc age·grou p co ntest , but t he mor e time May spe nt in th e KTM's saddle, the mor e familiar he be ca me with t he bike . May w ra ppe d up his second win of th e day with a I-I sweep of the 12- 13 class. Ulrich follo wed May acro ss th e finish in both races and w on th e 9-11 class. Dacu s again trailed May and Ulrich, but th is time he wa s re warded with th e ove rall 85c c Beginner-class win: In th e day 's largest class, Dacus won both motos to lead Chance Easley (2 -2) a nd Zac h Mo ore (4- 3) in th e 14-rid e r field. Chris McDaniel is arguably the fastest rider in t he 125cc Beginne r class. On this day, McDaniel got his toughest challenge in quit e so me tim e from Ya maha rider Jeff jen kin s. jen kins, riding a YZ250F, beat McDaniel to the finish after an exciting w hee l-to -wh eet duel in m ota one . Moto t wo saw jenkins ta king command, only to lose the lead to McDaniel. The tw o were never mo re than a wheel apart. Wit h the check e red nag in sight, jenkins ' risky attempt to overtake McDaniel we nt awry, and th e YZ p ilot c rashed har d . Th is to o k t he pressure off McDaniel, who won overa llvia a 2-1 t ally. Max jacobse n (4 -2) , Ben Dodd (3- 3), jen kins ( 1-6) and Thad Eakin (5-4) ro unded o ut the to p five. Cobra rider Breanna McLuskie is gaining prom inence as one of the top female riders in th e state . McLusk ie fell on e mot o sho rt of a dual-class win after posting thr ee mot a wins in a row in the 50cc Open and 50cc (0-6) classes. After a sweep of the 50cc (0-6) class and a win in th e o pe ning 50c c Open mo to , McLuskie couldn't rep e at he r ea rlier magic and trailed fellow Cobra rider Ben Chappell at the finish in moto two. Extreme Sports Entertoinment Holeshot Series Rou nd 3: San Jacin to MX Pa rk A tot al of 232 entrie s showed up for the third /""\round of the Ext re me Spo rt s Ent ertainme nt Ho leshot Series at San jacinto MX Park in Splendora, Texas. While the numbers may not reflect it, the quality of racing was tremendo us, especially in the Mini clas ses . The Lou isian a con tinge ncy made for some nat ion al-calibe r racing, giving the event t he fe el of a Lo rett a L ynn's regional. 76 then we nt out and finished one-two in the 85cc junior (7- 11) class; Raymond jennings foliowed in third ove rall. Domingue (3-1 ) clai med the ov e rall 8Scc ( 12- 13) win, followed by john Tomlin (2-2) and Tyler Scho vajsa ( 1-3). Domingu e also claimed th ird o verall in th e Senior Superm ini class ; Schovajsa was once again in the hunt , finishing second overall, beh ind class winner Max Swain, wh o che c ke d o ut e arly in both mo tos for a co nvincing win. just in Pool and Chase Spears were also in the hunt. Baldwin and Begnand weren't finished yet, tho ugh. Baldwin won the 6Scc (7-9) class, ahead of james Norris IV and Austin Smidey. Begnand ( 1-2) ran into a game Kevin Rios (2- 1) in the 65cc ( 10- 1I) class, w ith Rio s t aking an impressive overall win, ove r Begnand and Matt Butler. Highlands Kawasaki's Cod y Stark co ntinued his racing comeback with a I- I win in the 12Scc Novice class, and he also scored second overall in th e Schoolboy class. ProWorks Racing's H. McMillan ( I- I) was th e overall w inne r in th e Schoolboy class, with john Fikaris third . McMillan ( I- I) also w on the 125c c Inte rm ed iat e class aboard his K's Motorsports Suzuki; Fikaris once again landed on t he pod ium , claiming second overall, ahead of Suzuki-mou nted Ryan King. Payto n Turb yfill pow e re d his Cob ra to a sweep of the 51cc (4-6) class , and Ca meron Wentz did likewise aboard his KTM in the 5 1cc (7-8) class. Turb yfill placed third in t he Super Modi fie d Pe e We e class , behind Layndon Schiller (2- 1) and Mason Clark ( 1-2). Loui siana pilots Je re my Do mingue , Lance Vince nt and Ne al Begnand mad e t he t rip to Te xas , loo king to fine -tu ne t heir skills in antici patio n of t he upco ming Loretta Lyn n's qualifier in Monroe , Louisiana. The three Cajun ride rs were co nsiste ntly running up fro nt in the ir respective classes. In the 6Scc Op en class, Vince nt ( 1-2) clai me d the top po dium s po t , ahea d o f Begn and (3 -1) , j M Racing 's Bea u 8aldwin (2-3) pushed the two Cajuns, claiming t he thi rd podium spot. Daut h grabbed the holeshot on his J 40th Anniver sary Husqvam a in the first Over 40 Expert moto and was neve r se riously challenged . Todd Kohlmeist e r, on his 198 3 Maic o , t oo k se co nd, wi th Husky-mounted Brett Foste r th ird overa ll and first Inte rmediate. In the seco nd moto, Dauth got a bad stan and had to batt le fro m third to take the lead on the pe nultimate lap.
