wheel spindles must be as homologated
on the standard road machine. Here is
the sting in the tale . Yes, tale, as we are
surely entering another period of legislative murkiness .
Quite why someone decided to check
a wheel spindle and declare it illegal, the

narios must be true. The CBR600RR rear
wheel spindle has never been homologated
properly, either by fault of Honda or the
FIM. Or the specs have been changed in
production and never passed on to the
FIM. Or something else equally unbelievable - because as every team and Honda
representatives attest, the spindles in question are original Honda streetbike parts.
When the FIM technical director
showed the teams the relevant part of the
regulations, a copy on CD-ROM , the section showing tolerances for the rear
wheel spindle weight was illegible. With
no original copy on site, and no other
point of reference, the FIM called them
