put in two strong rides , thumping his way to second place on a 2-3 tally. Blair has really improved in a short period of time and is now a threat to local riders . Competition Suzuki/T ucker Rocky-backed Bryan Monjaras did his best to hang up front, but a sore knee from a previous race held him back. Monjaras still finished the day with an imp ressive 5-2 score, giving him th ird overall in the Intermediate class. Ho nda-mo unted C harlie Lugo also rode we ll, going 4-4 for fourth on the day. The cr ash-of-the -eve nt award goes to Ken Flanagan , whose mig ht y KTM wa s last see n he ad ing north - without him o n it. (He did event ually recover his bike and finish the race in nint h place .) In the 65cc class, Charlie Lugo Jr. snagged two hole shots. over KTM-mou nted Brandon Ped erso n, and also led, the first moto fo r two laps before Pederson got by and took the moto win. Lugo Jr. finished second. followed dista ntly by Hunte r Shanti. However, Pederson was on a mission, and when th e ride rs hit the first corner in moto two , Pe de rso n was gone! In fact, th is young charger was clearing the facility's largest tabletop and backsiding it like a pro! Lugo Jr. finished second, and Shanti crashe d , taking a DN F in the moto. Duane O akley was t he one to beat in the 80cc class . He domina te d both mo t o s unco ntested, ea rn ing himself a pair of holeshots and a flaw less I- I tally. Yamaha pilot Albert Alamora no had t o mi x it up wi t h Ric ha rd Castillo , Just in Gue r re ro and Brad Crockett before he cou ld finish o ut his race with a 2-2 score. Cas tillo (3-3) finished th ird, while fourth w ent to Mario Tro ncuso . Yamaha YZ250-mounted Trevor Merth put t he h u rt on his c ompetitors in the 25 0cc Beginne r class , checking out in both rno tos . Milo Flores and Jon Roc ker were the on ly ones able to kee p Mert h in sight all day. and he pushed past Pucho in the esses to wrest t he le ad away fro m him. The tw o o f th e m sim ply rode awa y fro m the rest of the racers. Casey Yarrow and Cory Call had their ow n race going o n for third . Chand ler managed to hold tight to his le ad , but Bagnis never let him get away. If Chan dler had made any errors, Bagnis su re ly w o uld have capit alize d on th e m , but Chandler rode a perfect race and took the welldeserved w in. The actio n was fierce in several of the other classe s, and there was no s hortage of con troversy, as the to p six racers in the 450cc Midd leweight class were d isq ualified for not obeyi ng a red flag; Harley Peek too k advantage of the ir misfo rtu ne and grabbed the win. In the Sportsman class, rising sta r Vincent Guisand e triumphed afte r a race-long batt le with wily vet Brian Peco re . After o nly a few laps, he collided w ith ano ther rider on the co urse and went down hard . He w as slo w to get go ing again, and Wa tts, mean whi le, new by fo r the lead and the w in, followed by Nathan Tee l and the n Haberlock. In the second moto, Haberlock was a man o n a mission, and he rode like a Pro to take the w in, o ver Wa tt s, Sullivan , Zach Johnson and Brad Fra c e .
