But with Fresno's Pacific Paving Co . putting forth a lot of effort into the track, the end resu lt was a Iightningfast, blue groove, three-eighths -mile oval. For the second week in a row, Brad Spencer was the quicke st in the Open Vintage Class, with de fend ing Vintage cham pion Rick Hock ing a close second . The O pen Pro heat races were won by Wood , Kenny Carlotta and Scott Corsetti. Defe nding Open Pro champion Kevin Bricker pressured Carlotta hard in the second heat but had to settle for second. Bricker wou ldn't be denied as he led Wood home in the Open Dash for Cash, however. B 12 The Saddlemen Vintage heats saw Steve Hall win ove r fast -t imer Brad Spencer in heat o ne. Hoc king won heat two. The Vintage Dash for Cash saw Hocking over Spence r in heat one . When the Vintage A main went green, the "Hock" hit turn one first with local rider Jay Gosvenor and Spencer close behind . Spencer put a move on Gosvenor, and at the fi rst stri pe it was Hocking, Spence r, Gosvenor, Mike Gonza les and Steve Hall. Hoc king was "fee ling his oats" as he seemed to pullw heelies at will, anywhere on the track. At the halfway mark it was Hocking with a gap ove r Spencer, who had in turn gapped Gosvenor. Hall got by Gonza les for fourt h and closed in on Gosve nor. Hocking wheelied his way to his sec ond win in as many tries. Spencer was second . Hall also got arou nd Gosve no r and finished on the podium . Gosvenor held on for fourt h, with Gonza les a close fifth. "The trac k started off a little shitty, and then it came to us, and we started hoo king up good ," Hocking said. "What can you say? That's two in a row. Just keep going." The Top Gun 450 holeshot went to Taylor, w ith Spencer in tow. The Pat King Racing/Jessica Racing/Factory Motorsports-backed Taylor was fast and smooth as he gapped the field.
