" I got th e holes hot," Roncada said . " T hat helped a lot. I had Bubb a beh ind me , I could hear his 12Scc bike - it w as funny bec ause usually I have just fou rstrokes behind me , so I knew it w as him. He was really putting som e pres sure on m e, he passed me once , and I passed himstraight back, then he passed me in the whoops, and , passed him back . H e made his final move ar ound lap five and passed me again, this t ime for good. '" tried to keep up with him, and I felt ' did okay," Roncada added . " I didn't lo se th at m uch time o n him . He was on it! I t hought he would kill us, so I was surpr ised that he wa sn't qui cker," Roncada adm itted t hat he t hought t he fo ur-strokes had an advantage on the slick and dry Las Vegas t rack. " I think It's a fo ur-s t ro ke track, a litt le dry, some nat co rn ers , plus the w hoops were smaller, so I think I had an advantage," he said. " But yo u need all t he advantages against Bubb a t o race w ith him ." Team H ond a's Nathan Ramsey prevented an all-Kawa saki podium w it h a lat e-race pass on 12Scc W est Coast cham p Ivan Tedesco . On the last lap, Ramsey forced his way past t he Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider to squeak on the podium. " I got a decent start in the rnarn, Ramsey said. " I w as fourth or fift h, had some good lines in the whoops, but I wasn't with Stewart and Roncada. By the t ime I got into fourth and onto Tedesco, w ho was th ird , Stewart and Roncada w ere a long way ahead, so I w ante d to work o n Tedesco." And that he did. He hung on the back wheel of Tedesco . although a miscaleulat ion nearly cost him a podium place . " I got alongside him a few t imes," Ramsey said. " Like fou r or five times, but I neve r got past him . I made a big m istake in the rhythm sect ion . We were tripling in, and I came in short and had to ri de ove r each section , instead o f jumping it. I lost like three seconds right there. I was able to get back onto Tedesco, and t hen o n the last lap, he left the door open, and' squeezed in there. I got him on t he finish line on the last lap. " T he t rack was good ," Ramsey said. " It was fun , technical, and t here was also som e good jumps . The dirt is very good here; you can't just pin it. We had an advantage for sure over the 125cc machines ."
