Ty Siminoe topped both the Pee Wee SOc:c Stock and Modified 7·8 cla sses. The sec ond outing for Alessi was in the 250cc Stoc k Pro, but Grant turned in a stellar performance to take the win and the championship with Alessi having gone down in the first turn. Aless i remounted and went fro m dead last to finish second by the end of the race. It was then that Alessi made it known via the airways in a pastrace interview that he was going after Grant and inten ded to win the remainder of his events. The third Pro race was the 125cc Modified Pro , of wh ich Suzuki's l<¥1e Partridge gra bbed the ho les ho t and led the first lap befo re Aless i too k over the lea d and neve r looked back. Honda of Houston's Tommy Hah n of Kansas finished third for a second overall. Jeff Ward added another title to his re sume at the World Minis . . \: The final Pro event, th e 250cc Modified, was disast er for Alessi at the start. Alessi and Grant were bar to bar into the first tu rn. Alessi began to push Gran t out , but Grant somehow managed to hold his ground, but not without Alessi getting the brunt of the collision and tumbling off the side of the track - once again remounting in dead last. Alessi went down again in another section of the course and called it qu its and headed back to pits. Tommy Hahn took the lead out of the first tum chased by Team Greerv'D&S Kawasaki's Cody Dickey of Texas, who was followed by Grant. Grant got around Dickey on the second lap and went after Hahn in a chase that lasted all the way to the checkered flag. Hahn took the win, but Grant's division win and run -off second awarded him the title.
