THO World Supercross GP/THO AMA Supercross Series 43 Ryan Clark 9th Team Solitaire's Ryan Clark had a decent night, breaking into the top 10 for the first time this year. "The night went well," he said. "I got my best start of the season, and I had good lap times allday, but I couldn't hold that pace in the final. I want to make some big things happen in Vegas, and I'd like to be top five, I have the speed; I just need to get my head on straight ." 93 Tommy Hofmaster 16th Thor/EnzoiDunlop's Tommy Hofrnaster had a good weekend, despite what his 16th-place finish in the main might indicate. Hofmaster rode well all night and then pulled an enormous holeshot in the main, grabbing the $1SOO Butterfinger Holeshot Award. "It was like a dream when I pulled that start ," the ATenacross star said of his short-lived lead. "I'm usuallypretty good off the gate, but even that one surprised me ." He went on to say, "I had a great weekend here . They filmed me for ESPN2 privateer of the week . I got to ride with Lusk and some freestylers over at agio on Friday. I rode good in my heat and the semi, and then that start, too . It was fun." 28 Heath Voss 7th The night did not start out too well for Mach I Yamaha's Voss, but it ended much better, The Texan failed to qualify out of his heat race, and then he missed the transfer in the semi by one spot and had to go to the last-chance , which he finally won . He started in third in the final and dropped a few positions to seventh . Voss has a 21-point lead over Huffman for the World SX Championship title going into the last race. "Me and Ezra both had a rough night," Voss said of the qualifier results. "It was hard to pass out there, and it was stressful going to the LCQ. I took it easy in the final just to be safe but almost crashed a few times." 38 Jason Thomas 10th Subway HondaiFlylYoshimura's Jason Thomas had one of his best-ever results after qualifyingdirectly out of his heat race . The Floridian has picked it up in the last few weeks. "That was only the second time that I ever qualified straight from the heat race," he said. "It was also my first top-10 ever in the main. I'm happy." 84 Tyson Hadsell 17th After being penalized 25 points for his fuel infraction, the BSY/MSRlScon·backed rider qualified for his first 2SOcc main event of the year. The Floridian started in 19th and worked up a few positions before it was over. ''I'm using the same VP fuel today as I did last week, and today it's okay," he said. "I think it's kind of hokey." Suzuki's N ick Wey for fourth on lap IS and then cruised home. He has t hird locked up for the se ries. Suzuki's Sean Hamblin was an im pres sive fifth aft e r starting in 12th.
