o r Ivan Tedesco the 2004 season has been one of near perfection. The Pro Circuit Kawasaki
KX250F rider posted another strong main-event win in front of 41 ,000 fans at Texas Stadium ,
making it win number six of the seven-race series, number seven of his career, and number one
for his first 12Scc Western Regional title. Coming into the Texas round, all Tedesco had to do to
wrap up the Western Regional 125cc Supercross title was to finish on the podium , even if his
teammate Stephane Roncada, who was second in points going in, were to win. But instead of just finishing
on the podium , Tedesco finished on top of the pod ium to wrap it all up.
Even after a nine-week brea k in the series, Tedesco looked as if there hadn't been a break at all, as he
won both his heat race and main event.
"I've worked rea lly hard th is year," Tedesco said of his six wins and his first champ ionship. "I've got a good
bike, and I changed my attitude com ing into the series. I've always had the speed , but I just wanted to win
races and let it come to me . I'm pumped, and it feels good. I've been waiting my whole life for this, and I
really need to thank my parents, too."
When asked about how the guidance of his boss Mitch Payton helped along the way, Tedesco said, "Mitch
has really helped me. Everybody on the team is really mellow, and there is no stress or pressure, and that
really helps."
