"I'll start riding in about five weeks and then should be back around [for) Southwick or Budds Creek [Nationals) in june ." Team ECC's Evan Laughridge competed in Dallas, wh ich was his first race since breaki ng his wrist back in November. "I've been off the bike for about four months, but I feel real good out there," the Californian said after practice. "My stam ina feels all right, and I really like the RM-Z250." Laughridge finished ISth in the 125cc main. Arenacross Cha mpion Darcy Lange was back in act ion for the first t ime since injuring his knee at the St . Louis Supercross last month. Lange said, "My knee feels good today. I was going to ride at Pontiac [April 3), but the ext ra two weeks gave it some more rest. I need to show these guys what us Arenacrossers can do. " Lange ended up IOth in the final. Two-time Arenacross Champion josh Demuth, who lives in Texas, is sponsored by the Texas-based Motion Cyclesports/Shogun Yamaha team. Demuth, who broke his lower leg midway through the 2004-2004 Arenacross Series , was walking around well, but he said that he is going to stay off the bike for a little while yet . "I'm going to give it another month before I get back on the bike." he said. "I'd like to make my return at the Mammoth Mountain Motocross In june." On Friday at Dallas, knee brace manufacturer Asterisk, in association with Clear Channel , threw an industry barbeque in the pits for riders, mechanics , media and all other industry involved in supercross, The party included food and drinks, and many of the riders and personnel made the event well attended. ner was rightfully happy w ith his ride, but he adm itted t hat he believes that he ca n still do better. Povolny said that his new son , james Povolny III, will attend his first race next week at Salt Lake, but after practice his wife, Donita, surprised him by shcwlng up at Dallas with his son. Unfortunately, Povolny cras hed hard in his semi and sat out the LCQ with a sore hand . Amso il Chaparral Hond a's Chris Gosselaar was missing in action at Dallas, as he chos e not to race so he could stay home and start practi cing for the upco ming outdoor series . Pastrana says that rac ing in Las Vegas is still only a "maybe." Being the local and high-profile team at the Dallas Supercross, Team SamsunglRadio Shack Yamaha had one of the best locations for their sem i - closest to the stadium and the fans. After signing thousands of autog raphs and doing promotional events throu ghout the week, team member Michae l Blose said, "O ur pits were killer this weekend . Everybody stopped by, and we also did a lot of things th is week." And when asked about how the sho w "The Reality of Speed " was doing on television, Blose added , "The show is great, and t he ratings are good. When we get to 500,000 viewe rs, we will get our own half-hour segm ent. Right now we are at about 300,000 to 350,000 ." Red Bull KTM's Ryan Morais gave everyone a scare when he cr ashed hard in practice , hitt ing his head and taken back to the pits with a concus sion. He sat out t he rest of the day. Five of t he 22 riders in t he 125cc class were Eastern regional riders who did not finish in the to p 10 of their series, making t hem eligible to ride a West round.
