Ricky Rinauro scored the most wins in the 80ce division , taking three classes this weekend . After winding th eir way thr ough Mississippi and Louisiana, it was time they brought the ir se ries nort h to Suga r C re e k MX in Missouri , just a stone's throw from th e Arkansas bor de r. But e nough of this geography lesson - le t's move on to the racing! As the gate le ll lor the first 250cc Expe rt rno t o, Texa n Andrew C lark , o n his Yamaha 450cc lour-stroke , got out lro nt early, lollowed by RM250 jockey Jell Crutc her and Natha niel "Buddy " Benoit , o n t he MDR-backed YZ250. That ru nning or de r lasted less th an a lap . as Be noit slid out in a corner, handing his spot over to Ben Schrik. On lap two, Crutcher made his move to take t he lead from Clark, and th es e tw o immediately put a gap on the rest of the field. By mote's end , Blake Keeton had clawed his way into th ird, just ahead of Schrik. As the second moto got under way. C lark sh owed Kee t o n an d Crutc her t he fast way arou nd the hilly track. Not to be denied , Clark made no mistakes and put his YZ450F out front for the re mainde r of t he moto . As for Crutcher and Keeton, the tw o battled all moto long, with Keeton com ing out on top. Benoit came acro ss the line in fourth . C r ut ch e r wou ld no t be d e nied a win , however. The I25cc Pros lined the gat e fo r 62 APRI L21 , 2004 . CYCLE NEWS Jeff Crutcher (481) and Andrew Clark (336) split the Pro-c lass wins at round three of the Pro Privateer Mid-South Championship Series. their first time o ut. This time, it was going to be Cl ar k pursuing t he yello w four-s tro ke o f Crutcher, just ahea d of Keet on and Schrik. The lead remained his all the way to the checke rs. A last-lap stall by Clark nearly saw Keeton get by, but it wasn't t o be . John Adam and Benoi t ro unded out the top five. When the gate fell for the second mota, the holeshot went to Ben oit, and th at caught the field off guard . C hasing Ben oit early on were Cl a r k and Ad a m . C r ut cher w as w orking overtime. t rying to make his way up through the pack. As the laps wo re down , so did Ben oit. Using some momentum and a bit of confide nce , Crutcher made a pass on Ben oit and led t he troops hom e, w ith Adam in thir d and Keeto n lourth. R. D . Johnson 0 1 Pine Bluff, Arkansas, showed good speed and technique as he wo n both motos of the 125cc Beginne r class. Brian Strait also rode we ll as he swe pt all four motes in the 125cc and 250cc Novice classes.
