Carr Adds McCoy To Team e igning AMA Progressive Insura nce U.S. Flat Track Ch amp ion Ch ris Carr has anno unced that he will be add ing a tea mmate, Texas-based flat track veteran W illie McCoy [pictured] , to his Quality Ch ecked Certified Pre-Owned Fo rd Team for the remainder of the 2004 AMA season. "I am proud to anno unce tha t Willie McCoy has joined the Quality Checked Certified PreOwned Ford Team ," Car r said in a press re lease . "Starting at the next race in San Francisco on May I, Chris Carr Racing will field a two-ri der tea m for the rest of the AMA Progress ive Insura nce Flat Track Grand National Cha mp ionship Series. Willie has been a top -20 rider wh ile preparing his own R equipment, transporting it and do ing the tuning at the track. Now that Willie has a full-ti me tuner and our team be hind him, I think we can propel him into th e top 10 and maybe the top five by the end of the season. McCoy, who charged from the back to finish an impressive fo urth at the Dayto na opener, won two consecutive Harley-Davidson Sportster Perfo rmance Championships in 1999 and 2000. The Salinas Ramblers encourage all OHV users of Clear Creek to attend th is meeting to let the BLM know how poorly it is managing the area. On March 21, the Center for Biodiversi ty and the California Native Plant Society filed a Notice of Intent to sue the BLMfor mismanagement of Clear Creek and for failing to protect the San Benito Even ing Primrose, a federal ly listed endange re d plant. A potential lawsuit could seek a total closure of the Clear Creek Management Area to OHV use. A number of OHV events are held in Clear Creek, including the Qu icksilver Nat ional Enduro .
