The first day of racing saw Alessi post five out of six moto wins in his respective divisions. A first-turn crash halfway through Friday's races in the 125cc Modified Intermediate class saw Alessi make a remarkable recovery. remounting dead last and going on to finish in seventh place . Bruised knuckles and some swelling o n his left hand from the crash didn't deter the Californian from competing later on , but he did bow out of the 40th Anniversary I25cc Modified Intermediate consolation and a chance to race the final moto on Sunday. Alessi won both of his division races on Saturday in the 125 and 250cc Stock Intermed iate events. Although sec ond mot os were scheduled to start Saturday afternoon. they were canceled due to the numerous co nsolation races and other de lays. T he pressure was on Alessi Sunday with seven classes on his menu, but he came off the gate with flying colors and pulled off six wins to take titles in the 125cc Stock Inte rmed iate, 125cc O pen. 250cc Stock and Modified Intermediate, 250cc O pe n and Four-Stroke 201-650cc classes and a runner-up spot in 125cc
