ViIIO Osbon e Osborne was second in the Modified ( 14 - 15) event, with Clark third. The Supermini class saw Stroupe in second with Osborne th ird overall. None of the Vet classes merited divisions. Florida's Earl May made a statement when he topped all four motos of the Junior Over 25 and Senior Over 40 events. John Grewe also pulled out four perfect motos to win the Vet Ove r 30 and Vet Over 35 events . oWitl\ a pair 0 OYer 45 class, while Shaun Kalos and Charley Bogard each shared a moto win in the Vet Open A Over 25 category. Bogard won the first moto in front of Kalos, and the table tumed in moto two, with Kalostaking the overall with a 2-1 punch. Four Wo men's classes were offered at Lake Wh itney, with the Women 99cc & Up the most popu lar. Tarah Gieger was amazing in her charge to both moto wins. Sarah Whitmore finished up second in both motos, followed byJacqueline Ross in moto ." Immoto Gieget' rned to the gate in the Women A Senior Advanced event and kept Jessica Patterson at bay in moto one, but the muddy conditions of Sunday's final race , along with a less-than-stellar start, cost Gieger a sho t at a second tide. Jessye Davis had the best mudder skills and took the moto win, followed by Patterson and Whitmore , but Patterson took the overall with a 2-2. Second overall went to Whitmore with her 3-3 performances, wh ile Cantrell round - The claiming rule was used on Team Green Kawasaki's rider Ryan Villopoto by fellow Team Green rider Kyle Cunningham . Up -and-coming speedster Mike Alessi actual ly won six events, but due to protests he lost two of his titles. Both Alessi and Josh Grant were disqualified in the Four-Stroke event for jumping on a yellow flag. Alessi lost his other title in the 125cc B Modified event when he was docked a lap . Great Britain's Adam Chatfield rode under protest in his B events pending verification that he has been racing professional supercross on the other side of the Pond . Honda was the b ig winner at the Spring Classic, leaving Lake Whitney with 14 championships. Suzuki won I I titles, while Kawasaki claimed nine . Yamaha took six , followed by Cobra with three and KTM with two. California was tops in the Lone Star State, taking 12 of the 45 championships. North Carolina was runner-up with eight; Florida riders won five titles, while Michigan had three. " It rips my heart out to see any of these kids get injured ," said Lake Whitney's Dave Martin. "We all know that this can be a dange rous sport and t hat sometimes accidents happen and that t he injuries can be severe.
