U when it seemed the Pacific Coast Pro-Am
st
series co uld n't get any bigge r, alon g came
round two for the central region, where entries
continued to swe ll. The ride r turnout was so
great that many classes had to be split into multiple divisions - which, of course, made things a
little more complicated mathematically, but also
more interesting when it was time for the second motos.
The first group to get split up was the BScc
Beginner class. Robbie Boggs and Michael Furlin
led the ir respective gates in the opening motos.
C orey Farnswort h. Jo rd a n McCullough,
Stephen Pe rre tto and Halland Ethridge were all
top -t hree in the ir first mot os . Since the top
riders fro m both d ivisions w e re gro upe d
toge the r in the first dMsion for the final race ,
getting out front and staying there would be a
challenge. Boggs and Farnsworth ended up the
front -runne rs, with Boggs taking the V
ictory.
The fact that he finished first in both motos
made it easy to figure out who got the ove rall
win . likewise, Fa rnsw o r t h wa s a soli d 2-2
finisher and claimed runner-up . Michael Furlin
finished fo urt h the second t ime out ; his 1-4
showing was good enough fo r th ird place.

One of the largest turn outs every week is in
the 125cc Beginner class. Honda jockey Corey
jordan, who was victorious at round one , struck
first, and Collin johnson won his division's first
mot a . Greg Grou leff, who splits time between
BSs and 12Ss, placed second in his first race ,
an d Nick Mar mo lejo d id likewise. Jorda n
st reaked to victory in the second mo to and
overall. Johns on ran into a littl e tro ub le and
finished seventh, which relegated him to fifth
overall. Kent Kniffen made great strides in the
second race , finishing second after pladng fifth
the first time ou t; his efforts we re rewarded
with second overall. Zane Tatum (4-3) to ok
th ird, and Groulell (2-S) e nded up fourth.
Anot her strong tu rno ut was seen in the
12Scc Novice class. Two divisions lined up for
the first mot a . Michael Dunnaga n got the
holeshot on one of very few two -strokes in the
field. The Clawson Motorsports rider battled
w ith Dustin Pipes t hro ugh o ut the ra ce,
eventually surrendering the lead and the moto
wi n. Both were headed for the first-d ivision
finale, as were Eric Ralls and Ethan Flores, the
top guys from the second dtvislon. When the
second moto got under way, Dunnagan go t
another holes hot and battled w ith Ralls and
Larry Vasquez . Both ride rs eventually got by,
with Ralls taking the win, along with the overall.
Dunnagan held on to second overall as we ll as
"holeshot king" status, while Vasquez was third.
With Deale r Do llars on th e line In almost
every class, everyone was giving it everything
they had. That 's probably why they say it's "the
series to win."

Three Palms Extreme Sport Park hosted a
I ra in-makeup rou nd of the STC Winter
Series . Several out -o f-state riders sho wed up
on t heir way to t he Spring Nationa ls at Lake
Whitney. One such rider was Nicholas McPhee,
from Wind Gap, Pe nnsylvania. The Suzuki pilot
found himself in a constant battle with Crosby
native Rodolfo Fernandez all day long. The two
batt led in three classes , w ith McPhee winning
two ofthose .
In the 8Scc Senior (12- 13) class, Fe rnandez
too k bot h holeshots and went on to both mota
victories . McPhee followed each t ime in
second .
