from start to finish

perhaps the biggest shoo-in
winner in history, James Stewart, made the
tough decision to sit out the I25cc program
after a couple of hard practice crashes (see
Briefly...). Then Andrew Short started out
the night's 250cc program with a runaway
heat-race w in. But it was the 250cc main
that held the biggest and most e xciting surprises of all, as South Bend , Indiana's Mike
laRocco not only won the race in a series
so far completely do minated by C had Reed
and Kevin Windham, but he started it off
with a ho leshot in his 202nd-career 250c c
main.

just cool. I could not believe how
loud the crowd was. And when I
got the holeshot, it seemed like
they never quieted down. It was
