splashed onto the Zolder circu it o n the
first day of spring, a new era in Grand Prix
Motocross might just have been born. For the first
time in a long w hile, it was not Stefan Everts, Mickael
Picho n or Joel Smets sta nding ato p the podi um of a
Motocross Grand Prix.
It seems the new breed of young talent is reaching
for the stars and trying to take hold of this year' s MXI
and MX2 series - at least at this early point of the season . For everyone in attendance at the Belgian
Motocross complex, it was a time to rejoice.
In bot h the MX I and MX2 class, it was the legends
of the spo rt who had to take a back seat wh ile names
like Cedric Melotte, Ben Townley, Steve Ramon and
Marc de Reuver ripped through the oppo sition, winning
a heat each and waving goodbye to the older, more
established riders . To make matters even more exciting,
