''I'm real happy to come out of the
weekend like this and win again," Reed
said. "It was my first time I was able to put
three together, so I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season, and for
sure a weekend off [after Indianapolis,
March 20]."
The last thing Windham wanted going
into St. Louiswas to see Reed get his third
straight win.
"1don't write myself off, but this is the
first time that anyone in the season's gone
three in a row," Windham said. "I definitely wanted to come in and win ton ight
to shut Chad dow n again, and Idon't want
him to get the mome ntum through the
remaining part of the season like he did
with Ricky [Carmichael] last year [when
Reed won six in a row to end the season]."
The St. Louis 250cc main event started
with a bang, and it was Suzuki's Travis
Pastrana supplying the fireworks. Pastrana
started about sixth, but through the first
tum and down the fi rst straightaway, he
quickly moved all the way into second,
just past Red Bull KTM's Grant Langs-
