Th is event has grown over the years to include, among other things, car and mo torcycle sho ws, ro bot conflict, motorcycle trials competition, and the main attractlon . two days o f indoo r arenacross actio n to kic k off t he rac e se aso n in AHA District 6. T his ye a r, t he Moto ram a Race s aga in featured mor e than 500 race rs from I I states do ing battle in 23 di fferent div ision s o n t he tight indoor course . The racing was fierce . The main events of the day kicked off wit h the o pe ning ceremonies and t he htgh-flymg antics of Clint John so n and Joe Ro bertso n, two loca l Expe rt riders doing battl e in the jump Style competition. T he crowd went wild as both jo hnson and Robertson busted o ut HeelC lickers and Na c-Nacs over the big tr iple jump . T he eve nt was declared a tie, as judged by the cro wd 's applause. By the time the checkered flag dro pped , the Suzuki rider had a six-second advantage on the res t of th e pack. Harringto n, Spangler, Travis Rudd and Matthew Ge ist round ed out th e top five. As the saying goes , there's no rest for the weary: The second main event of the day was the I25cc B class, so the 15-year-old Toth had to climb down off the pod ium and mo unt his RM125 and head straight back to t he starting gate . T his t ime , t he com pet ition was a little tougher, wit h a full 20-man gate and some seasoned veterans in the mix. When the gate dro pped , his ad re nalin too k ov e r, and Tot h emerged fro m the pack w ith the lead com ing o ut of the first turn and neve r loo ked back. Gap Racing's Eric Sebast ian charged from fifth up into second , foll ow e d by Dy lan Kau tz , Drew Kibler and Alex Gaul. DeSpain wo n the 250cc Junior class, and Campbell wo n the I25cc junior class. T he Moto Mart/Answe rlSc ott/Tw in Airs po nso re d De Spain w as un t o uc habl e in the 250cc jun ior co ntest, apparently unst oppable e n ro ute to a t wo -mota class decimatio n. Taking a d ist ant se cond was Brandon Pilot (2-2), and taking th ird was Michae l Lee (3-3). KT M- mo unt e d Bla ke Landon (4-4) finis hed fourth, and round ing o ut the top five was jeff Sara ult (6-5). The I25cc Junior co ntest was one to watch, with the w hole class batt ling it out for first . In the first mo ta, Campbell took th e ea rly lead an d left th e re st of t he pa ck to argu e ove r seco nd. Chris Rogers was moving up fast until he bent his shifter; he was witho ut a shifter for J the rest of the race and eve ntually faded back, wh ile Chad Smit h mo ved up to take second . Taking third was Pilot. In the second moto, Rogers was on fire now t hat he cou ld shift again, and he grab be d the lead away from Campbell. T he top two stayed the same, and Kevin Robertson squeaked into third. Campbell ( 1-2) won t he overall , wh ile the disappoin ted Rogers (4- 1) picked up second . Pilot (3-5) to o k th e last podiu m po sit ion in th ird, w hile fourth and fihh we nt to Robertson ( 7- 3) a nd " G na rl y Arlie " Southard (6 -4) , respectively. Coltin Scan was the man of the day in the 50cc ranks , pos ting a perfect I- I sco re in the 50cc (7-B) class. Scott had his wo rk cut o ut for him in the first mota, as De vin Har riman wa s the early leade r. Scott wo rke d on him for the w hole mota and then shot by near th e end of the race for the lead and the win. O n the first lap , Gar re t got by Page in t he w hoop section, followed shortly t hereafter by Peters.
