AMA SUPERBIKE

AMA Chev rolet S uperblke Champio nship
One of the thirtgs many of the riders wished
pay for it in those las t three or four laps.
So I just tried to be steady and see if the
ball was in their court, if they would have
made a bit of a, just a little blip in a pit
stop, or something would have gone
wrong, then it would've been ours. But
everything went well."
eN
they had at Daytona was more practice
ti me. Damon Buckmaster said he never had
the time to put any race-distance stints
together truly to test what the tires would
do. "There just isn't any time," Buckmaster
said. "There 's no time in practice and qualifyingto do so. Especially when you have to
come in and out of the pits a couple of times
with setup changes. Once you do that , you
lose all your practice time, your testing time
on tires. You can stay out there the whole
time and do a race distance on a tire, but
then you might need some changes 10 your
bike, and you have to do it in the next session. And we only had three sessions. "
