an opportunity to decide the race early,
and he too k it , driving his YZ250 into
W indham's path as Windham railed the
outs ide of the first turn .
"We' re racers, and we love to race ,"
Re ed said. "I think the aggress ive racing is
slowly coming back, and I just had to be
W
aggressive. It wasn't beca use it was Kevin
[Windham] or anyone else; I just did w hat
was done to me in my heat race [by Gra nt
Langston]. T he trac ks a re easier and
faster, and we need good starts . Th at's
the differe nce betwee n first and seco nd,
it seems ."
Getting out front first once again did
prove to be the differen ce, as the Aussie
raced on to his sixth win of the yea r, w hile
Amso il/Chapar ra l Honda's W ind ham
rec ove red for second but o nce again fell
to more than a race behind in points, as
he currently trails Reed by 26 with seve n
rounds left to run .
