Sacramento's Arco Arena,
Lange went to work. Havingto come from
behind all weekend to do it, he won three
of four main events to capture his first
National Arenacross Championship.
"It feels awesome:' Lange said. "It's
probably the best feeling in the world. It
wasn't easy this weekend, but I felt good
all my friends and family were here. I
hope I can come back next year and do it
all again."

Jeff Northrop took the holes hot for
Friday 's 125cc ma in. Jim Neese and
Tommy Hofmaster gave chase immediately, and Lange, who gated poo rly, started sixth . Neese faded quickly and allowed
Hofmaster by, who went right toward the
front . Brad Hagseth and Lange also
passed Neese and moved into third and

fourth, respectively.
"Iwas trying to push up front , and I just
tried to stay strong," Hofmaster said. "It' s
getting choppy out there, so you have to
be careful picking your lines."
While Hofmaster was intent on tracking Northrop down, Hagseth was busy in
th ird place with the man who would be
king, Lange. Hagseth finally re lented, and
Lange got by and set out afte r Hofmaster
and Northrop.
"I had to come from the back row and
still got a fourth-place
Hagseth said. '"

little cross-rutted, and Darcy got by."
