AMA National Hare Scrambles Series
KTM's Shane Watts showed up at Hollister but did not race. The Australian, who
ONF'd both the prev ious Mesquite
WORCS race and the Texas GNCC, said he
injured his knee the Friday before Hollister
and didn't want to risk further damage in
the muddy race . WatLS had intended on riding his KTM 200 EXC but will try again at
the next GNCC race in Palatka, Florida,
March 22.

Another significant rider who did not attend
was defending Hare Scrambles Champion
Jason Raines. The Am-Pro Yamaha rider
separated his shoulder at the GNCC/
National Hare Scrambles opener in Texas a
few weeks earlier and is still on the me nd .
The hare scrambles series allows two
throwaway rounds, so he still has a shot to
defend his title.
