Mark Dwye r has bee n in control of the 3642 Expe rt class fro m the drop of the gate at rou nd one . To date, Dwyer has tallied just six po ints fo r eac h o f his six m ota w ins a nd there fore sits atop the poi nts le ad . Dwye r added two more points for his I-I mota scores, again w hile running away fro m th e pack . Bob Johnson (3-2) battled with Robbie James (2-4) while giving chase to James in mota one. Robbie Hadlock kept the riders in sight in fourth place in mota one but slipped to sixth in mot o two for a finish just outside the top five. Jo hnson went on for the runner-u p spot after a second place finish, while James made a gnarly save for third overall after landing on the edg e of the downs ide of the tunn e l jump adjacent to the starti ng line. Adrian Ciomo salvaged a day tha t cou ld have been wo rse , as his 6-3 score fo r fourt h overall kept him in the points hunt ; he sits in third in the points chase. Steve Ree ves probably hoped to do better but finished with a respectable 5-5 score on the de mandi ng Glen Helen surface and retains second overall in the points stan dings, just 15 points behind Dwye r. MXA test rider Willy Musgrave is ano ther racer who seems to be untouchable: He went undefeated as well , with eight straight wins in the 36-42 Pro class. Jim He nn has yet to get a victory under his kidney belt, but he has done respe ctably no netheless , finishing no worse than thi rd. Henn e xchanged mo ta w ins with Kevin Vidana-Barda (2-3) to hang on for second overall, beh ind Musgrave . Mike Giem made the trip to Glen Helen worthwh ile by earning fourth overall with a straig ht 4· 4 sco re while ke e p ing pace o n Lo re n Po c h iro w s ki, who rounded out the top five with 5-5 finishes. Pat Samud io missed out on valuable po ints by missing round th ree , but he made up for the loss with a re turn to The Glen for an ove rall (on a 1-3 score) to remain in t he top five in the se rie s points c hase . Steve Anderso n (4- 2) sneaked into the top thr e e w ith his imp ro ve d second mota; Anderson finished in the runnerup spot, ahead of se ries poi nts leader Do ug Davison (3-4).
