Christopher Gosselaar 5th
Despite knocking himself out and injuring his ankle at
Anaheim II, AmsoiVChaparral Honda's Gosselaar
pulled together a top-five finish at San Diego. "I got
tired ," Gosselaar said. "I didn't ride all week after my
crash. So, I'm happy with a top-five , I got a good start
and just worked from there. I felt horrible in my heat
race . I was riding really badly. After that , my goal was
just to get a good start in the main and try for a topfive. I'm happy with fifth. I'm just going to work my
way up. Mygoal next week is a top-four."
61 Troy Adams
7th
Team O'Neal/Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Adams is on
steady rebound from the hand injury that he sullered at the Phoenix Supercross. But for a
bad start, he might have finished higher
than he did. "I had another midpack start,
like I always do," Adams said. "We're still
working on those, but overall I think I
caught up pretty decent. I wanted to catch
up more. I just need to push harder next
time. My hand is gening bener and better
each weekend. I'm still taping it up a little,
but it'll be fine. I just kept my head together and worked my way through. I just
need to make it a little easier next time by
getting the holeshot. "
80 Josh Summey
10th
The Samsung/Radio Shack Yamaha-backed Summey finished 10th for the second weekend
in a row. "It was pretty good tonight ," Summey said. "I got 011 to a bad start, and I just kind
of worked my way through the pack. I'm still in the top 10 in points , so that's pretty good .
Everybody really helped out tonight - my mechanic worked hard, and everything went
well." Summey said that he feels the team is meeting the goals that it set for itself coming
into the season. "Everybody is really happy," he said. "We have been qualifyingand making
the main events every weekend, and they're happy with that . And we're not injured."
108 Joaquim Rodrigues
12th
"My heat race was pretty good," Red Bull KTM's Rodrigues said. "I was running third until
the last lap, and then I made a mistake and finished fifth, but I qualified for the main, and
that 's what I really wanted to do. In the main, I made a good start, but then Brock Sellards
completely took me out , and I kind of hurt my shoulder again. I just rode easy and finished
the race after that. It's a shame that Sellards took me out like that. My shoulder was really
sore after that . Going through the whoops it was like someone was sticking a knife in
there. I was dying until the end . But I finished."
