200, the History of America's Premier Motorcycle Race.
Emde 's sold-out first edition, printed in 1991 , is included in its entirety, along
with the addition of the last 13 years of Dayto na 200 racing act ion. This two-part
book provides an in-depth history of the race tha t goes bey ond just the pure facts
and figures. In part one, the reader goes on a decade-by-decade trip thro ugh time,
starting back before the first running of the Dayto na 200 in 1937 right up to 2003 .

to 55mm. Despite the
increasein cylinder capaclty the 1000cc engine is
almost six pounds lighter than the 750cc version. The weight savings were obtained by
lightening the motor's inte rnals significantly.
From a performance standpoint, the new MVAgusta motor is destined to become a
new re ference point for power and torque. MVAgusta claims the motor will make around
165 horsepower.
The chassis is still the only chromium-molybdenum steel girder-type structure that houses a four-cylinder motor. This helped engineers to achieve their goals in terms of weight and
compactness. The fork is a fullyadjustable 50mm Marzocchi unit, while an Ohlins steering
damper keeps the front end stable. Nissin six-piston calipers and 31Omm discs handle braking duty up front , while a four-pisto n caliper and 21Omm disc sits out back .
There are a number of aesthetic details that differentiate the F4 1000 5 from the 750
