Iowa caucuses, Josh Demut h arrived with some different goals in mind and aimed to pick up where he left off in Fort Worth. Archrival Darcy lange stumbled earlyon, but he also showed some blazing speed on his way to picking up Saturday's I25cc mainevent win . inher ited the runner-up position when Hagseth stalled out of the lead. "I went down after the first turn , but I just kept plugging away, and pretty soon I saw Jeff in front of me, and I knew Shawn was ahead of him in third," lange said. "I got in behind Josh, but he rode pretty protective the last lap," Clark grab bed the fi nal podium position. Hagset h restarted and finished a disappointing fourth . lange's first-turn misfortun e continued in the 250cc main, as the Canad ian we nt down in the middle of the first turn and rem o unted last. Ryan Huffman was the benefacto r of the lange mistake, as he took the holesh o t and the ea rly lead w ith Hofmaster, Demut h and Clark in tow. It quickly became a blue freight train out front, and the trio of riders built a lead that became quite sizable betw een t hemselves and the trio of Clark, Brayton and John Dowd, who at this point were batt ling for fourth place. Demu th worked his way around Hofmaster by taking an outs ide line just after the Nissan catapult. and he carried that momentum into the whoops and passed Huffman for the lead as well.
