How ev er , the speedster charged forwa rd every lap , and , after a brief bat tle with Jerry Cox , he secured th e seco nd spot by the- white-flag lap. Swift ended up finishing j ust a f ew seco nds b ehind Furn ess , whil e Co x held o n to t h e thi rd spot.
