As has happened before, he got a bad start, pa ssed everyone, an d made it to th e fro nt j ust in tim e to be scored in first place by the en d of the first lap . I actua lly th ough t I had a bigger lead than what I di d , but Charles wa s rig ht there wi th m e." "It 's reall y hard to pu ll away when yo u ha ve so m any la pped ri ders on the same trail," Summers noted, "b ut the course was go od , a nd I re a ll y enjoyed myself o ut th ere. " Meanwhil e, A llen , Mull in s a nd Bersan o were fightin g for the podium the entire rac e. Toward the end of the fi rst lap, Allen dropped ba ck to seco nd, and he st ayed there fo r anot her half-lap. FMF Suzu ki -b ack ed Bersano and KTM- mounted Mullins took ove r o n t h e r e mai n i ng two l a p s . Th ey p ic k ed up t hei r pace co ns ide ra b ly duri ng the l ast l ap a n d c ha rge d a m inu t e and a half fas t er fr om th e ir p reviou s lap 's time . On the last lap , Mullins pass ed Bersan o and fini sh ed in second plac e, j ust seconds behind Summers. " I too k a d i ffer ent lin e a ro u nd Blai r a nd got a round hi m," said Mu llins . "I cou ld see Sum m ers in front of m e, but there was no way to get around him. I had fun , and I want to thank my dad for he lping m e. " Bersano al so had problems getting around his opponent , but he rod e an impressive race and finished third ove ra ll. The next three r iders we re also battl ing w ithin seconds of one another. Dustin Gibson , John M a s ch in o and Allen f reig ht-trai ne d a bo u t a m in u t e b eh in d t he t op three rid ers, m ov in g ba ck and fo rth . T h ree rid ers fro m the third round claimed the ir th ird w in for th i s se a so n: Charles Cun ningham in the Vet C class , Jake Fiddler i n th e 200 c c B c l as s, a n d Steve Gordon in the Vet A class . After winn ing their respect ive classes at this event , Jeffrey Holland, Ryan Creasor and Summers each find themselves in a points tie in those classes . Holland w on the Open B class an d is now tied in po ints with Gav in Hun t. Cr easo r finished fi rst in th e Four-Strok e B c las s and is now tied wi th Kenny Judd.
