A lap later, Harmon j o ined in, making it a th ree- ri der battle over th e top sp o t. T h e duel l as ted th e enti re m oto , with Smith finally railing around Ba rger in a sweepi ng turn on th e fi na l ci rc ui t to earn th e win. Barg er fini sh ed sec ond , w ith Harmon closing to w ith in a bikelength at th e checkers . Anthony Ducato steadily work ed his way up i nt o the fourth slot, ahead of Jefferson and Br ian Schaumburg. Longtime CR250 pilot Harmon put his new CRF450R to good use i n m ot o two, as he shot into the ea rly lead and went the distance, beating everyone else to the checkers . Smith gated in second place and kept Har m on ho nest en ro ut e to his run ner-up fin ish , wh ic h happen ed to be good enough for the overall honors. Sti ver wasted littl e ti me in m ak ing his way into the lead, and he quickly pu lled away. By mote's end , Sti ver had 30 seconds on Rhinehart , and Decker fin ished third, over Mike Mansi. Stiver put in another near-flawless performance to go wire to wire for the second-moto victory . Rh inehart had no trouble holding down second place again, and Decker's 3-4 score earned third on the day. Scott Howe flew his Answer/White Brothe rs /Pro Ta per/Rider's Choice sponsored Y Z450 F to a two -moto sweep of the 2 50cc Pro class . Donnie Durre r used a pa ir of good starts to go 2-2 for the second -plac e paybac k , toppi ng the 3-3 tally of Nichol as Bur son and th e 4-4 score of J osh Bag ge.
