Scott McConnell was on top once again in the Mini 65c c (7 ·1 1) clas s. aci ng both m otos on his KTM . McConn ell also won the Mini J unior class, with a 1-3 tally ; Dyla n Koth won the seco nd m ota . McConnell wrapped up th e NCS cha mpionship in both cla sses, a feat that was fairly tough co nsidering he's riding tw o co mp letely di fferent bikes, a KTM 65 SX and a Yamaha YZ85 . Ev en m or e i nter e st ing , McC onnell is a diabetic and races with an insulin pu m p. His race -day preparation is unlike any other kid 's on the line. He chec k s hi s bloo d suga r levels m any tim es throughout the day to ensure he is at the peak level of his co nditioning du ri ng th e race.
