Hon da riders Edd ie Wal k er (2- 1) and Don Bu sh ( 1-2 ) fini shed the day tied on poi nts in the 250cc 0 class. Bu sh passed Walk er on lap two of the fir st m ot o fo r the win . Dustin Wig gins m oved up to cha llenge Walk er. Th e pai r went at it bar to bar , with Walk er holding the edge . J oe Wilson and Sc ott Cre w s rounded out the top five. It wasn 't as easy as it m ight sound , as the St eel Cit y track was li tt ered wi th the ki nd of frame -deep ruts that m akes picking good lin es critical. T im Coo m bs and cre w m ade sur e the tra ck was passable fo r everyone, but leavin g th e big ruts in created a special challenge tha t the Ex pe rt rid ers, especi ally, appreci ated. Th e experi enced Dick son has been raci ng at Steel Cit y for yea rs, and he too k advantage of his knowledge of the track to nail t he Vet A and th e Over 25 -c1ass win s. Th ose wins didn't com e easily , though. as Dickson's longtime riv al Tony Waugaman was o n ha nd to battle him in bo th ag e cla sse s. Waugaman won the first Ov er 25 m oto , but he was shu t out the rest of the way . as Dick son took the next three m oto win s, Waugaman had to settl e for seco nd -p lace pl aqu es on th e day . He also went 3 -3 for thi rd in the 250cc A class . In the 1250c A cl ass . ano the r o ld -schoo l Steel City star, Shan e Law son , c hased Coo k to 2 -2 fini shes and second o ve ra l l. Lawson hasn' t been racin g too mu ch thi s year . but w hene ver he does. he see m s to lock int o a battl e w ith B en Ritt er . Roman was second again in the 125 cc B clas s, with M or g antown Suzu k i' s Logan Ma rt in th ird . In the 250cc B clas s, J am es Bower went 2 -2 for second , with M art in aga in claiming third. Durham , however, was the ma ster of th e 85cc ( 12 - 13) clas s, taking bo th m ot a wins.
