Su rp ris ing ly , Hon d a r id er Pau l Carp en t er found him sel f outsi de the top 2 0, but he beg an t o work his way forward . By the end of la p fou r, Carpen ter was already in ninth. Up fr ont , Gibson wo rke d his way around Su mmey for the l ead . Gibson appeared to h av e thi ngs und er contro l, setting a pa c e nob od y else could match. Back in th e pack, Ryan Sip es was putting in a great rid e on h is new , stock 2004 KX F 2 50, again st all the big -bor e fo ur -strokes. With t wo la ps to go, Gib so n was st ill in t o t a l co ntrol. S u mm e y was second but feelin g some hea t fro m Walters . Riddle, Sip es an d Carp enter fo llowed. On th e whi te -flag la p, Sipes work ed his way aro und Riddle. Then Carpenter pas sed Riddl e. Just wh en th e ord er loo k ed se t , Summ e y cra shed and co ul dn 't restart. At th e chec k ered fla g, it was Gib son , WaI ters, Si pes, Carpenter and Riddle. In m ot o tw o, Carpe nter didn 't w ant to wo rk as hard as he had in th e fi rst outi ng , so he shot to t he fr ont righ t o ut of th e ga te . Behind h im, Walters, Ho nda rid er Dustin Pull ey , KTM rid er Matt Burris, Summey and Riddle were so close, you c ould've thrown a blan - R ( 2 -5 ) fini shed out th e overall top three. "Thi s i s what I a m runn ing th is se rie s for - to win ra ce s and th e c h a m p i o n shi p," Gibson sa id . " M y Cernics Honda was gre at and worked well all d ay . I like coming to LTM and am gl ad th at m y first Four-Stroke win c am e here." When the 250cc Pros ro lled up to th e li ne, many of the top Four-Stroke Pros were back to battle for the class win and th e money. In the first m ot o , Carpenter was out to prove who was the faste st on this da y . Carpenter led e ve r y single l a p of the moto fo r a dominating win . Summey was in sec ond for the first part of the m ot o but co uldn' t ho ld off W alt er s, who passed hi m on la p six and set o ut after h is tea mmate; howev er , Walters co uld n't match Carp enter 's pace. Wa lte rs fi nished second, Su m m ey finished thi rd, Gibson finished fourth, and Riddl e fi nished fifth . In the second moto, Walters looked li k e he finally had th tngs like g ate, the racing was tight and good. In t h e f i r s t m o t o , Sip es got and st a y ed o ut fr o nt for th e m oto win. Chr ist o ph er Wh itcraft fini sh ed sec o nd, and Pull ey finished th ird. In the second moto, Yam aha rider Will iam Bro wn in g was out front, wi th Wh it craft se c ond an d Su zu k i r id er B rad Modjewski third. On l ap three , W h i t c r aft p asse d Brown in g for th e lead . Modj ewsk i and Sip es al so passed Br own in g and set out after Whitcraft. On th e sixth lap , Modjewsk i passed Whitcraft for th e lead and never looked back. Sipes also m ade hi s way aro und Whitcraft and finished second for th e mot o, ga rne ring first ove rall.
