had made hi s wa y ar ound Ma ynard , but he
couldn 't shake th e WMR Competiti on Perfor rnen c e-back ed rider. who stay ed glued to his
rear fender. Maynard 's pre ssur e fi nally paid
off. as he was abl e to repass Renne r on the
final lap and hold on for the win . T iffan y was
th ird ,

with Tiffany seco nd : both Mayn ard and Renn er

end of lap o ne . Johnson was o n f i r e an d
enjoyed abou t a four-second cus hion on Sk in ner for the ma jority of the rn ot o , but Skinner
pu t o n a fi nal -lap c ha rg e th at took hi m t o
within a second beh ind Johnson at the fin ish .
J oh n son ' s Ka wasak i t ea m mate D o n n ie
M cGourty p ulled the second -moto ho leshot,
o ver Joh nson and Ski nner , and held the lead
at the c om pleti on of the first circuit. By that
t im e , Ski nner w a s in secon d a nd had his
sights set on leadin g, wh ich he d id by the end
of lap t wo . Sk inner ra c ed t o th e m oto w in
un scathed, with McGourty holding off J oh nson
for seco nd .
Sk inn er 's 2 -1 sco re was good for th e over all , and J ohnson' s 1-3 tally got him th e run ner-up hon ors.
Th e 125cc B class also requ ired q ualifiers
and featured two oth er newly crow ned AMA
N ationa l Ch ampions - Te am Gr een 's K yl e
Chisholm and hi s teammate Matt Bent. Th ey
each handily won th eir qualifiers, sett ing up an
exci ting showdo wn in th e final m ot o . .

lead o n lap one and held it fo r a num ber of
laps unt il Ch isholm finally caught up . Th e two
went at it and swapped t he lead ba ck and
fo rth until Boni slid out in th e co rne r befor e the
El eva to r wi th tw o laps rem ainin g , allo w ing
Ste wart t o snea k by into second. Ch ish olm
went on to tak e th e win , whil e Ban i recl aimed
the runner -up spot on the fin al lap .
