CMA H ighPoint MX Series Round 2: H anford Fairgrounds Welcome to the Cen Cal Sauna Worth. Arthurs held on fo r sec ond in the opening ra ce . Lem oo re' s Johnny N ail had some bad luck and finished 10th in the first outing but ca me back st rong w ith the seco nd -mota win . A 10-1 sho w ing wasn't eno ugh to get him o n th e pod ium , but he sho we d th e k in d of speed that wi ll have people t aking him seriously fro m now o n. Kessin ger' s 1-2 combo was just enough to beat Cox's 3 - 1 for th e clas s bragg ing rights, bu t Cox wa s right ther e. Co m peting agai nst eac h othe r in both th e 50cc (7 -8 ) and 50cc O pen cl asses, the two young racers tr aded m ota and overa ll win s. Mau , wh o has only been out of th e F irst -Ti m er s class fo r about a month , edge d Hjort land fo r the 50cc (7 -8) victory with 2- 1 m ot o fin ishes . Hjortland c am e back with a swee p in th e O pe n class , but M au was right th ere in seco nd bo th times out . It seemed to wo rk o ut p retty we ll, sinc e bo th were ecstat ic with thei r victo ries. In the 85cc Begi nner class , a fu ll gat e of rider s ca me out to play, and several of them were in contention for podium finis hes. J essy Art hu rs got out front in the first m ot a but eventually fell prey to Yama ha rider Ry a n Hanford Fairgrounds: Jessy Arthurs (220) and Ryan Worth (22R) were this close throughout t he better part of both 85cc Beginner mot os at round two of the CMA High Point MX Series in Hanfo rd, Californ ia. Pine Ridge had seen a lot of rain in the past few days, but th e tr ack was groo me d to perfe ct io n as th e series po int s bat tl es began to heat up . Un fortunatel y , Mot her Nature put a damper on m ost of the seco nd set of rnotos, but points were st ill ente red as th e crew go t in one co m plete set of m ot os. Al an Jo nas jumped out to th e early lead in th e Masters O ver 25 cl ass, with Frank Wei ss close beh ind. Chuc k Cisler wa s soo n hounding We iss fo r seco nd , while Jona s w as q uick ly gain ing gro und . Cisler m oved around We iss for second. Then Weiss slip ped back to fourth, b eh ind H on d a -m o u n t ed Sta c y A nde rso n . Jonas chec ke d out with th e win . Cisler held on to sec ond. Jonas got a strong start and led early again . B rya n Barstow . wh o had a m iserable first m ota , was in seco nd f or m ost of the r ac e u nt il Wo llin passed him for sec ond on his Yamaha. Wollin had no chance of ca tc hing Jonas , bu t he did get th ird overall with a 5 -2 ta lly, beh ind Cisler ( 2 -4 ). Ben Pet erson took th e early lead in the fast Mi n i 65cc (7 - 1 1) di vision. Nystr om was on Peterson ' s rear fender as they entered th e va lley sectio n . J am es Leon was rippin g on h is Ho nda 4 50 and too k th e victory ove r Eric Rall s and J arod Pack, both of wh om p ut in very nic e rid es. Sure , the weather was a litt le bit of a drag , but in the end , it was noth in g th at a litt le bit of MX co uldn' t cure . Jonas go t past Maier early on in th e rhy thm sect ion, as did Eric Weise. Th en Weise passed J ona s for seco nd . Jo nas sta lled it on the sec o nd lap , making w ay fo r Maier t o sta rt hi s charge.
