He had a good start in mota one, but a brief fall while tryi ng to pass And rew Short resulted in a sixth. His start was a little worse in mota two. but he mov ed up quickly until he fell again. "I was slowly inching up on Woods. , tried to set up a pass, and , slid out and went off the track," said "B yrner," who gave up a spot to Langston . "My starts have been way better lately. He battled most of the first mota with Josh Woods to tak e fifth , while another of his usual strong starts put him up front in mota two . "I hounded Brock [Sellards] the whole way," said Sm ith, who sat in third m ost of the mota. "I was try ing to set somethi ng up for the last two laps. Then ' saw him get out of shape over a ju mp. I guess his engine lock ed up. For once I had some good luck. I'v e been worki ng a lot harder this year, and my endurance is better. The hard work is paying off.' ~@® Bobby Kiniry 33rd ( 22-33) Th e teenager made his Pro debut at his hom e track, but it didn't go too well. "J osh Han sen j ust kep t pu shing m e off the t rack every t ime I got next to him ,' said the Motoworldracing.com Suzuki rider. "He pushed me off the track, and I fell down this hill into the bushes. Once I cli mbed up the cliff and back onto m y bike , I was like dead last. In the second mota , , got a really bad start and work ed my way to like 20th , but Hansen and I hit, and I crashed goi ng down a hill. My pip e was laying on me, and I got burned." Even stranger. Kiniry's mechanic lost his false teeth. which he's been using since he knocked out his real ones raci ng mini cy cles years ago. His bik e suffered an eng ine fail ure wh ile he was running second on the last lap of moto two. He did finish the first mota in third behind Hughes. " Ryan had a ch eater lin e in the new sect ion," said Sellards with a laugh. "It was totally legit, really. He went all the way to the left and stayed out of that dip .
