With six rounds down and six to go, there's still a lot of racing to be done; this is just the halfway point. Chris Cuero came up with the overall win after taking second in moto two of the 60cc (6·8) class. Gerardo Roldan finished fourth in moto one but came back with a vengeance in moto two to take the win, giving him second overall. KTM jockey Jake Mohnike pulled off third overall with his 2·3 score. Luke PasteJl finished in the number· four spot with his 3-4 finishes. Jacob Partridge was on fire aboard his Pomona Valley Kawasaki KTM. claiming the overall win in the 60cc (9-11) class with a 1-1 sweep. Second overall went to Garret Eckman, who improved his overall finish with a second place in moto two after finishing in the number-three spot in moto one. Nitro Johnson finished in the runner-up spot in moto one and then, in moto two, chased Bobby Abrams, who was running in the number-three spot. Johnson's slip to fourth in moto two earned him third overall, while Abrams finished fourth overall with his 5·3 motos. Fellow PVK rider Michael Richards finished out the top five with a 4 -5 effort. Honda of Houston's Daniel Sani, on his CR 125, topped the 125cc Intermediate class. He was second best in moto one, behind KTM rider Cale Wallace, but took the win in moto two. Wallace fell out of contention in moto two. though his 1-8 score was good for fourth overall, leaving the door open for fellow KTM rider Jeff Beli, who finished 3-2 for second overall. Brett Klein, on his Mid Cities Honda, finished with a 4-3 score for third overall. after placing seventh at round five. Tyler O·Neill. on his Temecula Motorsports Honda, finished 7-5 for fifth overall after placing outside the top 10 at round five. Nite-Cross Series races was another barn· burner of a night under the bright Wyoming County lights. Well over 100 competitors were on hand, each one looking to catch some of that big Wyoming County air, and with the grandstands full and the fences lined with spectators, it's apparent that Silver Springs Racing is on the right track, Fourteen 60cc Mini moto-maniacs were ready to make their own tracks into moto history in a blaze of glory. The only consistent thing in moto one was Brandon Mays, who struck first and hardest, leading this class of multitalented riders from flag to flag. Jake Eddy, Todd Thompson, Tyler Rayner and J.J. Bankosh filled out the top five. With all the marbles on the line, not to mention aU the points, moto two would decide whose name everyone would remember from this night. Lightning does strike twice, as "Matrix" Mays struck again, claiming the holeshot in ·part deux," but Eddy's Kawasaki's front tire was about midbike to Mays' KTM. Kyle Bitterman, also on a KTM, was once again a top contender, taking the outside groove to move into third - only to find himself in another bar-to-bar battle, this time with Rayner, to defend his new position. Rayner was the big gainer, as he had railed past Chaz Clingerman, Thompson and Zak Sanders. Now Rayner was challenging Bitterman. passing him when Bitterman went down and peddling for all he was worth while cornering on a tight, well-worn inside line. And that was not the end of this story. Mays was faster and looked more comfortable over the various jumps, but Rayner was 4. Shae Mofgan: 5. Erick Reed. XR50 ADV: L Zachary Forsyth. 60 STRTR: l. Ty Nelson (Suzl: 2. JustJn Ducut (KTM); 3. JULY 19 Raun Wood and Brandon Robinson took advantage of a rare rain-free Saturday evening to leave Path Valley Speedway with a pair of wins each. Wood took an unusual 25-lap 600cc A final and the 250cc A final; Shawn Baer spoiled Wood's chance at a triple with a win in the Sportsman final. Robinson won the 125cc and 250cc B finals. At the riders' meeting, one rider suggested running the 600cc A for 25 laps; the others agreed. As he had done in the heats, Wood put his Scott Powersports/Greenland Masonry/BRP-sponsored machine into the lead immediately. Baer, John Lewis, Sammy Sabedra and Bryan Douglas followed. Odds favored Wood and Baer, who were the only riders who had ridden a 25-lap final. Also, "Quick Kid" Lewis was riding injured with a groin pull after catching a rut on the soft surface in the heat. But while Wood was gradually pulling away, Lewis was inching his way by Baer, getting by at the halfway point and keeping a few-bikelenglhs margin to the end. The 250cc A contest was mostly processional, with Wood, Baer and Lewis in front, and the Sportsman event started out the same way, with Wood in front of Baer, Lewis and Douglas. This time, Baer stayed close; then he put his Battlefield H-D/BRP Rotax into the lead off the second tum on lap two. Once past, he held on to a three-bikelength margin to the end. R.J. Hart was quickest off the line in the 250cc B final, with Brad Phillips, Robinson and Richard Heverly behind him. Hart pulled out by several bikelengths during the early part of the final, while Robinson battled Phillips for second. Once he got by Phillips on the fifth lap, Robinson started cutting into Hart's margin. On the sixth lap, Robinson put his Robinson's Electric/Mom [, Dad-sponsored Honda into the lead, delaying Hart's first Amateur win. The 125cc event had Robinson taking the lead from Phillips, Jordan Harris and Jeff Bonnema. Robinson quickly buill a large margin that went away on the third lap when Bonnema crashed in the second turn. After the restart. Joey Parks and Harris got by Phillips for second and third as they went down the back straight on the fifth lap. As usual, Todd Kendig quickly jumped out in front of the Over 30 final, with Dallas Baer, Lance Stauffer, Mark Stambaugh and Rich Mellinger dose behind. Dallas stayed close, looking for a spot to pass, but he dropped out
