Up front, Montgomery blocked a pass attempt by Green going into the Bus Stop tum, the next-te-Iast tum of the course. However, Green outmotored Montgomery on the exit and took the lead under braking a turn later. At the end of lap one, the order was Green, Montgomery and Sanchez. with Jensen in fourth. ahead of Prussiano, Young and an on-lhe·move Shannon Ball. Once in the lead, Green put in his fastest lap in an attempt to stay out of Jensen's reach. Meanwhile, Jensen had moved even further up the order, passing Sanchez and Montgomery in the carousel tum after the finish. On lap three. Jensen caught Green and tried a move going into the first turn but couldn't make it stick. He finally went by a tum later, in The Bitch. "I went one gear shorter than I normally do to get a better drive out of the corner." said Jensen of the inside pass on Green. "I heard him comin' in 10 Itum one on the course now run backward!," said Green. "He stuck his nose in goin' into The Bitch, and I knew he was comin' by, so I let off a little, hopin' he would run wide, but he got it stopped and got turned." Meanwhile, Prussiano had passed Mont· gomery on the fast right·hander before the fin· ish, and after four times across the stripe, the order was Jensen, Green and Prussiano, with Ball displacing Montgomery and Sanchez to move into fourth. Once into fourth. Ball began dogging Prussiano and waiting for a mistake. He didn't have to wait long. "I tried to use my rear brake going into a corner and it didn't work," said Prussiano... , thought maybe we just hadn't pumped it up after changing wheels, so I spent the rest of that lap trying to pump it up, and that's when he IBali1 got around me. After Ball went by, I just ignored the rear brake and put my head down and tried to get him back." On lap six, Green made an attempt to get back around Jensen, but Jensen foiled the attempt, and by the end of the lap the order was Jensen, Green, Ball, Prussiano, Mont· gomery, Young and Sanchez. On the final lap, Prussia no put himself into position to make a move on Ball in the Bus Stop. Ball had been covering his inside line going into the tum on the previous two laps, so Prussiano swung wide in an attempt to square the turn and set up Ball for a pass in 10, but Prussiano bogged on the exit, and Ball brought it home unchallenged. At the finish, it was Jensen, Green, Ball. Prussiano and Mont· gomery. Hallett Motor Racing Circuit Hallett. Oklahoma Results: July 19-20. 2003 (Round 7) LJW GP AM: l. Mik~ Wright (Yllm): 2.
