The motor is the same 998cc displacement as stock with 74 x 58mm bore and stroke dimensions. The compression ratio is 13.5:1 and runs a Graves Motorsports kit with conrods and pistons and a Graves kit crankshaft. The head is ported to FX specifications and runs Graves kit camshafts and valve springs. It aiso features VEe kit close-ratio transmission and a Graves slipper ciutch. Fuel delivery is handled by 41mm Keihin carburetors or 40mm throttle bodies with the fuel-injected configuration and a Graves sealed kit airbox with a Graves airfllter. Cooling Is handled by the VZF-R7 kit radla1or. The Graves Motorsports triple clamp can be adjusted by 16mm, but the team stays within a 6mm range for the most part. The master cylinder is a Brembo 19 x 20 unit, while the controi levers are made by GYT-R. The frame is braced by Graves Motorsports and features an adjustable swingann pivot, which can be moved 12mm up and down and 4mm forward and aft via insert plates. The steering damper Is from Ohlins. The forks are 43mm Ohlins Superbike units with Twin Brembo monoblock radial-mount four-piston caliper brakes mounted on them. The rotors are 305mm Brembo units. The wheeis are Marchisini magnesium units in 3.5 x 16.5 inch in front and 6.0 x 16.5 inch out back. cue I e n e _ s • JULv30.2003 37
