Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca as first
Pier-Francesco Chili and then Ruben
Xaus scored popular wins. At 39
years old, Chili is· the oldest man in
the field and a Superbike fixture since
the mjd-'90s. In Xaus, there is the
unpolished diamond, a man who fell

race two, despite having to scrap in
the messy early laps.
Chili, on his PSG-l Ducati, took
his win in race one, after 28 'hardfought laps of the wildly undulating
and deceptive 2.2-mile Laguna Seca
